My bike was stolen @ JB

HI AT Bro>>>My Bike got stolen this afternoon outside the open carpark, Giant Supermarket at Tampoi, Johor Bahru. Bike was properly handle & disc lock at that time. When i returned back, my bike was gone after 1 hour of shopping there. Lodged a police report and told me to wait for the news. Ask the police officer, about the chances of getting the bike. They told me alot of big cc bike missing reported in JB but can't find any sign of them in the roads. miss my beloved bike ........2mor have to report to my insurance company regarding the claims.. For those who frequent JB, the car theft syndicates is back again. Our local police guy told me that a singapore car was reported missing at jb just before me.....

Sorry to hear about that, since you parked on a proper parking lot, then the chance of being toll away by the authority is very slim. I had mine tolled away once but luckily managed to retrive from the compund centre

Sad story to share..just don't take it too hard i know it is very painful.want saying go..old ones don't go, new ones don't come.i frequent jb but at carrefour pay some token to security guard or making fred with them,also install car alarm which i did to my bike.

Sorry 2 hear mate, I'd be really gutted too. If they're caught, maybe cutting off a hand might be a deterrent 4 the future. Have heard of ignition imbolizers being sold in Europe and the States, do they have them in Singapore? Wonder if Chan, Motoworld or whoever have available? Problem with alarms nowadays is that most people ignore them, more of a noise nuisance than a warning, no? Good luck with the insurance claim.

Thks Bros...went down to ntuc this morning. They told me if my bike cannot recovered after 3 month, they will start to prcess my claim based on the market value that lost on the day it reported. Any idea what is the market value for an FT AT bike. Friend told me that Mah motor selling brand new AT bike at 20k....price shootup...lucky this bike still got value. ;D

SOrry dudes to barge in but I can tell you ATwin,go and harass ur insurer everyday or else it will probably take you a century b4 you get your check.Had this problem way back in 2000 when I was very 'suay'.2 major accidents with 2 different cars within 28 days.Damned was I broke then!

Had no choice but to get a bone shaker to transit around.Insurer told me both cases must claim total loss because repair cost exceeds allocated budget for repairs.KNN!For this I spent so much money on tptn just to go to and fro to insurance company to expedite the claims.The fastest cheque I got was within 3 months after they realised that it was not worth to repair the car and the next cheque came in only after 5 SOLID MONTHS.This is because I am at the insurers office every other day pressing the agent who handled my case to expedited the claims.So good luck on this.If you don't mind the hassle,hustle them or else they just sit on it coz they will give you they same excuse....'Yes sir!We hope you can be patient as we are in the process'Nabuay!

Another thing is about the market value.Market value is actually how much they think you are worth....Damned!At the point I had the accident,the same make and model of my car are trading actively for around $22K.I had to settle for a measley $18.5K coz I can't produce proof of transaction.What I would suggest is if you wanna maximise your benefits,get proof of transaction of within these few months to substantiate your claims later.Usually,they will take the average of the highest and lowest,so it will take just one ass*ole to spoil the market price if he sells way below the actual market value.

Hopes this helps in explaining how to go about doing your claims.For your stolen bike,there will definitely be a replacement if the spirit of riding is still well and alive.Getting it back is impossible coz the only thing ma**y**an pol*** is good at is to give you ticket for supposedly speeding way beyond the legal limit....

Hi just read your posting today... so sorry bout your lost..

my friend lost his super 4 a few months back and recovered his bike with few missing parts at the Police station... the only one at JB..

the funny thing is, the police did not call him to inform that they have found the bike.. he just happen to go down there again to try his luck and found his bike there.. also there are alot of unclaimed sg bikes ... maybe you try to go down and check out and try your luck..
