OK guys,
I browsed through the web, the company recommended by Enwee has one of the most attractive package
US$7.95/month (must pay upront 2 years)
so total SGD$320, it is not a big sum but also not that small sum of money; and this is only for 2 years.

The way I look at it, definately will take some commitment, it maybe easy to start off but the hard part is on the maintenance as in monthly contribution for example.

To be honest, this FREE site we are using is serving the purpose of us "gathering" and share all short of information. The drawbacks is the URL is kind of hard to remember or dont look 'cool' and we dont have Photo Gallery ( can always use offsite link tho... )

Unless we are really serious, if not i would suggest we stay here, untill this free site is taken away again.

As today we have 90+ members (the active and real buddies probably about 20-30 members) if we collect $1 per month is more than enough for web hosting fees and still got extra to top up for our Annual AT Asia Chalet.

Now, I commited myself on the Web Maintenance and initial setup, (I will use the SQL from Enwee for the database and probably will modify a little)

We all witness that the AT-ASIA members has become more than just about bikes, we are like friends and even family in some extend...
OK, let's see some head count for members who REALLY willing to commit on $1 each month (please only write your name is you are serious)

Total we need is approx $330 for 2 years.
If we have 30 players, each will be $11. the next collection will be a year later with $1 each month, so over the year we will collect $12 each x 30 players... we are good to get another 2 years extension

We're already restricted to communicating by words through a monitor on the internet, galleries will make us feel closer & real. Ideas will be easier to be implemented with possible expanded pages etc.

i have some fucked up suggestions.... for now i wont contribuite $$ yet.

suggest one shot collect $10 or $20 and all provide bank account number for internet or atm funds transfer. this way no need for a person to collect $$$ and also you can update the list here for those you have collected/paid. One reason why i run it for 2 year without collect $$ is because collect $$ (worst if you say $1 a month!) is damn leh-che and also once $$ is involved certain level of commitment is unspoken and implicitly expected.

collect a bit more as you will need extra after a year to renew domain name. and with 20 GB of space you can opt to give paid users disk space as well for email/pictures/personal storage etc.... email can be [[e-mail]]

there are lots of things you can 'play' and do with a server... i'll also suggest to you when we meet and things are in running state some improvement to the current 'open' joining scheme so that need not waste time with idoits who post nonsense like vigara etc.

for now i am not working, will not contribuite funds but can contribuite technical knowledge if its something i know.

This is an informal webgroup for people with an interest in bike travel in this region. What bike one rides doesn't matter, in fact some don't even owns a bike currently.

The person who started this webgroup was riding an Africa Twin when he set up this site in 2000. Till now, majority are still AT, but there're all sorts of bikes over here - quite a number of GS, TDM, V-Strom, KTM, DR, Varadero, Transalp, Wave, Fazer 600/100 etc.

As the heading goes AT-Asia (Adventure touring Asia) meant for everybody regardless of what bike you rides. Don't be intimidated by the size of the bikes you see. Actually we are all a bunch of friendly people who share the same interest which is motorbikes. Do drop by and join us every Thursdays at Simpang Bedok from 11pm onwards to sometimes early Friday morning.

Me too had doubt like u before. But nowadays I heck care. Jungle Trailing with my ktm is my hobby but recently just got a V-strom.. So thinking of doing some touring. I seriously think this website is a good place for ppl with touring passion to meet up and share infos.
I always had meet up at Simpang too on thursdays but not with them though... Would love to join 1 of this days. Maybe will drop by with Aza and Fadil...

P.S Any touring this coming April???
