Guys, I am able to get quotation for your insurance, what I need is your photocopy of Log Card and IC. Even for Cars. The insurance is by NTUC, the price is much lower than quoted directly from NTUC (walk-in) You can always do the comparison before decide to purchase. No harm trying...

Not all bike shop are like that, infact i never come accross such demanding bike shop. As long as you have an insurance then you are OK, does not matter who buy it for you.

At least a second party for most shops becoz if anything happens they can safe guard themselves. Just check with Hitachi, but some bike shop is ok even with 3rd party insurance. Hope this helps. wes, if still under hire purchase agreement, can renew insurance ourselves leh? i know that some bike shops have the policy of u must renew with them, if not, u have to settle the bike price immediately....

Of course they'll make make noise cos they'll be paid commission for the insurance sold. Take sometime to read the hire purchase agreement did said must have enough insurance to cover but does not state you must take from the shop. If they ask you to pay for full payment just tell them to wait for your lawyer's letter. But before you make such statements it's better to read your hire purchase agreement first. Co this is what I did a couple of years and the bike shop just keep quiet. I told them if they pull such stunt again I'll bring them to court under breech of contract.
