THE name tag on her chest said 'Mile High Flyer'.
Dressed in a body-hugging one-piece black cotton dress which ended high above her knees, the Chinese-looking woman looked the part of a car show model.
But she was actually a masseuse.
Dressed to fulfil some lusty man's kinky fantasy.
And she was just one of half-a-dozen or so girls who worked in this illegal massage parlour on Neil Road, which was raided by the police yesterday evening.
Dressed as race queens, nurses, doctors, air stewardesses, office executives and even school girls, the women operated secretly behind closed doors, often offering more than just a massage, as The New Paper on Sunday team found out during a recent visit there.
GUARDED SECRET
And they were discreet. (See report below.)
The massage parlour did have a bright yellow sign with its name on it.
But it was not visible from outside.
It was at the top of a flight of stairs in a three-storey shophouse, behind a locked door.
You had to be let in before you could even see it.
On the second floor of the shophouse was a lounge area.
Customers are served tea and tidbits there while they await the day's line-up. The girls would emerge from behind a pink curtain - in their costumes - to greet customers.
They poured drinks and cooed: 'We are all about service here.'
Customers could take as long as they liked to choose a girl they fancied.
Repeat customers could call in advance to book a time slot with any girl.
The girls, who claimed they were from China, had been given English names like Alice, Shirley and Amanda, which they used to introduce themselves to customers.
They seemed to be in their mid-20s to late 30s.
Most could not speak English, although a few could manage a little.
In heavily-accented Mandarin and some English, one said: 'It's okay if we can't speak English.
'Body language is more important.'
One of the girls, who went by the name of Tina, claimed she was from Hangzhou and had been in Singapore for two years.
Speaking in English, she said she 'likes Singapore because it is less busy and there is more work here'.
Once a girl was picked, she led the customer to the third storey.
There were at least five dimly-lit massage rooms there.
The rooms were separated by partitions about 2m high.
Customers could hear other customers whispering to the girls as the partitions didn't extend up to the ceiling.
In each room was a mattress.
The door to every room could be locked and there was a clothes hanger on one wall for the girls and customers to use.
And that certainly came in handy. Because as soon as they were inside, the costumes come off.
Customers shelled out $40 for an hour's massage.
If they had sex too, they paid another $100.
Sometimes, moaning sounds could be heard on the third storey.
The four men we saw at the massage parlour seemed to vary in age from their 20s to 50s.
Speaking in hushed tones, they quickly disappeared into the rooms after taking off their shoes.
One even took his laptop computer into the room.
A finance executive, Gary (not his real name), said he liked the place as he felt it was unique.
Said Gary, 35: 'I came to know about this place last year.
'Previously it was under a different name. I heard it was raided by the authorities and had to close down.
'But I think it's all the same. Of course, once in the room they operate the same as other massage parlours, but I think it's very kinky.
'It's definitely more exciting than the usual health and fitness spas.'

Closely guarded flight of fantasy
THE illegal massage parlour kept a low profile.
It did not advertise its services in newspapers or magazines.
Knowledge of its location was spread by word of mouth or through an Internet sex forum.
If someone did not tell you where it was, the only way to find out was to join the sex forum.
It had a chat thread on which you could contact someone who knew the location.
This person, if he chose to, would then pass you a handphone number.
The next step was to send an SMS to this number.
And the reply would give the unit number of the shophouse in Neil Road.
Even after all that, potential customers who turned up at the shophouse would find the door locked.
They had to ring a doorbell, and they would be let in.
Once inside, a signboard with the name of the massage parlour would be visible.
The customer would then have to climb a long flight of stairs.
Halfway up, he would trigger a sensor which would alert those inside that he would soon be there.
A few seconds later, a girl would open a door at the top of the stairs and welcome the customer in.

Tantalising goodbye gift
THE service at the Neil Road parlour extended all the way to the door, as The New Paper on Sunday witnessed.
When a customer arrived, he would be greeted warmly by one of the masseuses.
While he waited for the girls to arrive for him to make a selection, the customer would be served tidbits and tea.
After the massage, a masseuse dressed as a nurse was seen giving her customer an intimate send-off.
She gave him a peck on both cheeks.
