Hi all, I'm sure many of u have been riding up to and around MHS loops. Just wanted to ask, if there is sure a place called Mae Hong Son Chamber of Commerce where u can buy a cert and sticker which reads that u have successfully cleared the 1800plus corners of MHS If so where is it and how much for the cert ? Thanks.

Yes, the stickers and Certificate can be purchased at the Mae Hong Son Chamber of Commerce. Its sharing the same building with TOURISM AUTHORITY OF THAILAND ( TAT ). the building looks more like an old british colonial building. Like what Lim said, it's directly opp the POST OFFICE. It's along the main street.
Oh now got 1864 T-shirts 4 sale there, dun forget to buy!!
From the map of MHS, locate the famous lake and from there, U can locate the POST office. It's a small town.
Try to ride up the hill behind the Chamber of Commerce direction, very nice view, overlooking MHS town.
Currently due to the flood in Changlun of NSH, U have to detour near Jita. No problem, peace of mind.
Have fun!!
Merry X'mas & Happy New Year to all fellow riders!!

Just out of curiosity,is the certificate really that important to you guys?No offence but mine looks as if it's torn out of some unused Thai magazine.Best part, everything in Thai except for the number plate.Stickers abit cartoony for my liking but Eris bought a T-shirt there.Sizing is typical thai sizing, one size smaller is the in-thing.Check out their Uni girls and their policemen. The tighter, the better.
The cert thingy,I think is not important. No offence but I beg to differ as I think as bikers,we should be enjoying the ride instead of trying to prove something but then again, some swear by papers....
Just came back this morn from LOS.Jitra cleared but when passing thru got foul smell from probably something organic.....

Andrew, forgotten to tell U regarding a new guest house in MHS. If U have the MHS map by David Unkovich, it's near the end of the MHS lake, U nid to ride pass the "Chong Klang & Chang Kham temples". Once U at the T-junction, turn right and within meters, U will see a new guest house on your left. U heng, found the name card, it's PALM HOUSE, located at 22/1 Chamnansathait Rd, $300 - 400 baht, air-con, hot shower and TV. Tel: 053-614022. It's run by a couple, v friendly, gd parking place. Paiseh, nice place but oni got no Ping Pong kaki.

Anyway will hit off tomorrow as the accomodations here fully booked due to the new year. Not much farangs but more for the locals. Fortunately we managed to get hold of the restrooms. I may hit back earlier while the other 3 cockersters will make their back to Chiang Mai. Do what I don't know.

Yo if you are making the trip to MHS be inform that they are doing up the roads here there's a long stretch where after Pai it's really off-road Dakar style. Oh that's common, they like to do road work at this period, coz they oso want to experience Paris Dakar, so for those can't go to Africa, do it at Thailand loh. ;D Anyway Paris Dakar had just started on 31 Dec06 in Lisbon, Portugal. Just worried for my green bird fren (FJR1300).
